MarskHaiku collects as little personal data as possible. Here is exactly what is stored, and why.

Comments

When you leave a comment, the name and message you enter are stored and, once approved by moderation, displayed publicly on the corresponding haiku's page. You can request the removal of a comment at any time by writing to contact@marshkalk.com.

Likes / dislikes

To limit each visitor to one reaction per haiku, a technical identifier is derived by hashing your IP address together with your browser's user-agent. This identifier isn't stored in a cookie, isn't linked to any profile, and isn't used for tracking beyond this single purpose.

Cookies

This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Two purely technical cookies are used:

• PHPSESSID — a standard session cookie, set on every visit, used to keep you logged in on the admin area when applicable. For a regular visitor it carries no personal data.
• mk_viewed_<haiku id> — set for 30 minutes after you view a haiku, so reloading the page or navigating back and forth doesn't inflate its view counter. It only holds a flag, no personal data.

Hosting

The site and its data are hosted by OVH SAS (2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France).
